Bernard Darnton
Wellington Central Candidate
Bernard Darnton is a Wellington software developer who works for a nationwide business software company. His day job involves examining how organisations work and designing software to meet their needs. He is married and has an infant daughter.
Bernard was the only person to challenge Helen Clark in court over her abuse of trust when she “misappropriated” $800,000 worth of taxpayers’ money to fund her 2005 election campaign. His successful legal challenge forced Clark to bring in retrospective legislation to avoid answering the charges in the High Court.
Bernard believes that New Zealanders are fully capable of looking after themselves. He is standing for Parliament not because he wants to boss people around and run their lives but as an act of self-defence against those who do.
