Scott Wilson is 38 years old and was born and raised in Wellington. He is currently a UK based private sector management consultant who fled the day after the 2005 general election tired of the ongoing nanny statism of the Labour government.
I am standing for Libertarianz as I believe fundamentally in the dignity and rights of individuals to live life as they see fit, as long as they respect the property and bodies of others.
I regard the state with a high degree of suspicion, having once spent several years working for it, I have seen firsthand the abominable incompetence of bureaucrats and politicians, wholly incapable of understanding the complexities and risks of what they tried to manage, but also quite willing to risk taxpayers’ money on it. However, most of all I have been appalled by the contemptible Electoral Finance Act, the bankruptcy of ongoing state welfarism for generations of families and the lack of accountability for a criminal justice system that delivers at best mixed results, whilst fighting victimless crimes and treating property crime as something to be filed away in the “good luck” pile.
I want libertarian ideas in Parliament, and I reject the almost complete surrender of policy and principle of the National Party which seeks to repeal almost none of the big government policies of the last nine years of left-wing Labour government. It is time to vote for yourself, vote Libertarianz.
