List Candidate
Robert Palmer is the Libertarianz Spokesman for Defence and Law & Order. He left school in Pleasant Point in 1974 joining the Royal New Zealand Navy, where he trained as an electronics technician retiring in 1996 as a Warrant Officer.
It was clear that after twenty years of service the best days of the Armed Forces were behind them, mainly due to the actions of Labour-led governments and the inactions of National-led governments, incompetent and unprincipled politicians taking short term gains at the expense of New Zealand’s security. The only party that recognises that the primary role of the government is to defend you from force – internally by the powers delegated to the Police and the Justice Department, and externally by maintaining a capable Defence Force and alliances that reinforce our interests around the world – is the Libertarianz Party.
As a company director I see the heavy hand of government stifling economic growth. The vibrant “can do” attitude of generations of Kiwis that lifted this country to the top of the OECD rankings is being regulated out of existence. The only party supporting capitalism is the Libertarianz party, and why? – well first and foremost: for the betterment of the human race. Now it must be acknowledged that these are not the easiest of days to be promoting a party as unashamedly capitalist. A number of governmental market distortions have led the world to the current financial crisis, however the fact remains that no other economic system has brought more to more people in the world than capitalism has.
Freedom – you should have the maximum of personal liberty so long as no other person’s rights are being abridged. In your private life, you should be allowed to set whatever personal boundaries your conscience allows. And while you should have some form of moral code to live by, it is certainly not the role of the state to impose a moral code that the politicians approve of on you.
Vote Libertarianz! More freedom, less government.
