Libz on Campus
Libertarianz is the first and only political party in New Zealand committed to the concept of a free society with a free market economy. We are committed to shrinking the power and influence of government in every area of our lives. We will put paid to bloated government bureaucracy and its authoritarian inclinations.

When we first leave high school and begin University, we are suddenly free. We’re free to stay up all night discussing politics, choose when to go to class and study, even attend a bar right on campus. Our new freedom comes with new responsibilities: bills to pay, flatmates to get on with, jobs to go to and assignments to do. Freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin.

Libertarianism is a political philosophy which puts the liberty of the individual first. Each person should be free to act as they please, so long as they do not initiate physical force or fraud against the person or property of others. We believe taxation is theft, free markets are the best economic system and taking drugs is a choice, not a crime.

Libertarianz On Campus was formed in 2002 in Auckland, and a Wellington group followed in 2004. Our aim is to spread libertarian ideas, organise events on campus and support Libertarianz campaigns.
